Sabine's Diary for Daddy

I can't wait for my Daddy to hold me and play with me! In the meantime, I'll post here so he can see what I'm up to!

UPDATES!!!

Guess what I have?!

I have a tooth! It just came through - lower right front tooth... so you don't need to bring me any coral to chew on Uncle Murphy. Mommy said she's glad that I'm finally able to sleep because that means she gets to sleep too. Kind of selfish don't you think?

I'm also crawling really fast and I like to stand up and scoot around furniture. I've bonked my head a lot lately so I'll have to go see Dr Mindy to make sure everything is back in the right places. I'm also eating toast!

Mommy is keeping busy, too. You'll have to ask her about that sometime. But the biggest news is that I know when I'll get to see my daddy!!!!! I'm keeping it a secret for awhile though.

I love you soooo much daddy! When you come home we are going to have so much fun. I'm going to crawl over you in my mountain climbing game, we'll take splashy baths, crawl around the living room (you usually have to chase me with a towel because I spit up sometimes) and help me brush my tooth (it really is a toothbrush!)... oh and you can feed me and change me too! I'm so excited!!!

I love you Daddy!

busy busy

Me and Uncle Jesse at Easter!

Mommy and I went to a Japanese festival and had fun with some Taiko drummers at KU

I love my Tigger and LOOK! I can hold the handles of my bottle all by myself

Mommy and I went to see our friend Baiba after the Japan festival. Everyone thinks they look alike.

Mommy got to put on a pretty Haori at the festival. They didn't have one my size so I wore my cherry blossom outfit and carried my fish, which mommy nicknamed Sashimi that night. (sashimi is raw fish in Japanese)

Who is Patty? And why is he green?

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Daddy!

Mommy dressed me up in my Green and Purple warm-up outfit today. She said I had to wear green. Everything was green today. I even ate GREEN PEAS!

Then before my bath tonight Bonnie and I played with her ball. I thought it would taste pretty good, but Mommy wouldn't let me put it in my mouth. Bonnie had a lot of fun chasing the ball when I'd bat it away.
I love you very much, Daddy!

Spring Wing Ding

Hi Daddy! Today Mommy and I went out to a farm for lunch. It was the annual Spring Wing Ding! The barn was quite smoky from the grill but there were some cute kids there. One little boy kept asking if Mommy was babysitting me. No, that's my mommy. Then he asked if Mommy was my big sister. No, that's my mommy!

The Spring Wing Ding is all about the geese and ducks flying through the place where Mommy grew up. We saw some flying overhead, but none on the ground this morning. When we came home I was sooo tired that Grandpa W and I had to go take a nap.

I love you Daddy!

Yucky - Yucky- Yuck

Mommy and I haven't been feeling very well this week. If you've seen us, please take some vitamin C and get lots of rest.

This week Mommy got to spend time with her friends who love Japan and I stayed with Grandma and Grandpa K. It would have been more fun if I didn't have a fever. Mommy was a bit worried and she was so happy that Dr Mindy loves me enough to let Mommy call her at home! Mommy told Dr Mindy (Aunt Mindy on non-medical days) that if she ever needed a Japanese translation to call her regardless of what time it was.... Dr Minday laughed and said she didn't think she'd need that any time soon.... but you never know.

I love you so much Daddy. Mommy wore your red shirt yesterday and we snuggled on the couch thinking of your arms around us both. Mommy said it smelled like you.... a clean Daddy.

I love you, Daddy!

Love,
Sabine

Mommy's Busy Day

I probably could have cooperated a bit more, but today I just didn't feel very well. I just wanted to cuddle with Mommy all day. But my baby teeth are starting to come in, so nursing and the bottle didn't feel good either. Mommy gave me squash mixed with rice cereal and that helped me feel a little bit better. Just as Mommy was starting to relax, she got a call from the television station. They were on their way to interview Mommy about when she was at the Olympics. Here's the link to that story: http://khastv.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3715

After the interview, Mommy and Grandpa W went to a basketball game and left me at home! (with Grandma W, of course) We were both feeling yucky and Mommy didn't want me to catch any germs. So at the basketball game the high school students gave Mommy a whole bunch of pens and markers and crayons for the kids in Iraq for Daddy to pass out. He's going to be so surprised!

I'm off to bed. Mommy is going to get some sleep too.

Love you Daddy!!!

Sabine's TV debut

Yesterday a really nice lady named Ginger ten Bensel came to Grandma and Grandpa Whiting's to talk to Mommy about the pen project Daddy has. Daddy has been giving children in Iraq pens instead of candy and Mommy has been asking everyone to send him pens.

So many people have been helping Mommy gather up pens. Right now there's a box of pens and crayons in the dining room. Tomorrow Mommy is taking me to a basketball game at her old high school where the student council will give us several boxes to send to Daddy. I don't know how many, but it seems like there will be a lot for those kids over there.

Talking with Ginger was fun. Bonnie dog was on TV too! Oh, and you can see the pretty necklace Daddy sent Mommy from Iraq in this photo.

This article talks about Mommy, but these pens are really all about Daddy and how much Mommy misses him.

I love you, Daddy
